1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Soundforge, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms apply to all users including students, teachers, and school administrators.
2. Description of Service
Soundforge is an AI-powered music generation platform that converts class notes into educational songs. Users can generate songs, save them to their history, and replay them at any time. Features vary by subscription plan.
3. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your account credentials secure
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Providing accurate information when creating your account
- Not sharing your account with others
- Not creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits
4. Subscription and Payments
Soundforge offers both free and paid subscription plans. By subscribing to a paid plan you agree to the following:
- Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically
- All payments are processed securely through Stripe
- You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us at soundforge00@gmail.com
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 7 days of a charge if you believe you were billed in error
- Song generation limits reset at the start of each billing period
- Unused songs do not roll over to the next month
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Soundforge to:
- Generate content that is harmful, offensive, or inappropriate
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to reverse engineer or copy the service
- Use automated tools to abuse the song generation system
- Share your account credentials with others
- Create multiple accounts to bypass plan limits
6. Intellectual Property
The songs and lyrics generated through Soundforge using your class notes are yours to use for personal and educational purposes. You retain ownership of the class notes you submit. Soundforge retains ownership of the platform, technology, and branding. You may not resell or commercially distribute songs generated through Soundforge without written permission.
7. School and Educator Accounts
Schools and educators who use Soundforge for classroom purposes are responsible for ensuring appropriate use by their students. If your school provides access to students under the age of 13, you are responsible for obtaining all necessary parental consents required by COPPA and any applicable state laws. Soundforge is not liable for any student data shared through school-managed accounts.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Soundforge is provided as-is without any guarantees. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated songs will meet your specific expectations. AI-generated music and lyrics may vary in quality and accuracy.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Soundforge and Alec Hooper shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months prior to the claim.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting soundforge00@gmail.com. Upon termination your data will be deleted within 30 days.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by email. Your continued use of Soundforge after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
